Killing The Messenger or
Back to the Good 'ol Days...?

Note: Going back to "how things were" will result in many places NOT ACCEPTING YOUR EMAILS. Due to our past rather lousy job at spam filtering, a lot of incoming spams were re-sent out to other systems. As a direct result, Flexnet's own mail servers have been banned/rate limited by spamcop, yahoo, etc. So if you find your yahoo directed emails not getting thru, well, now you know why.

Can you do your thing via GMAIL? IT IS NOT HARD TO SETUP your email program to use gmail to pickup/send your flex.com emails. Click Here

Can't learn any more new tricks? Fine. You can put your account back to how it used to be (but better, you'll see.)

1. Please go to http://webmail.flex.com to get to this login screen.
Sign in with your FLEXNET Username. Then sign in with your TEMPORARY PASSWORD you were issused. However, if already changed your password to something else, then of course put that in instead! Click "Sign In".

To find out your TEMPORARY PASSWORD, login to the Flexnet Member section. Your TEMP PASSWORD will be shown to you!

2. Click "Settings" in the upper right hand corner:

3. In the "Settings" screen area, click on "Accounts" as shown:

4. Now, if you did Sync Flexnet System Email you will find stuffs like what is pointed to below. You will have to back these settings out (if you did any, of course) by clicking on the "delete" button as shown:

5. A confirmation popup will appear. Click "OK" as shown.

6. Click on "Forwarding and POP" as shown:

7. Click the radio button "Forward a copy of incoming mail to...". Then in the box next to it, put in your USERNAME @ usermail.flex.com as shown. Then below that, use the down arrow drop box feature and select "delete flex.com's copy as highlighted. Finally, click on "Save Changes" as shown:

8. Victory! So, now you don't have to "learn" gmail. Back to how things were. Namely POP3 Server is "usermail.flex.com" and SMTP Server is "usermail.flex.com".

Every now and then you still should check your "Spam" box here at FlexGmail to see if a legit email got tagged. If so, just forward it over to your @usermail.flex.com address.
