A few words about me
Hi, my name is Don Gronning and I am a veteran editor, writer and photographer currently living in eastern Washington.
When I was a kid all I ever wanted to do was ride and write. I have done quite a bit of both, along with many other things. I probably have the influence of my mother and father to thank for that.
When I was a kid, my mom used to take us to the library, where I developed a love of reading, which led to a love of writing. I have written for newspapers since I was in eighth grade, when I used to cover junior high sports for the Cheney Free Press.
My father has always had horses. When my brother and I were little, he used to take us with him when he traveled to area rodeos to compete. I fell in love with rodeo and went on to compete for a number of years professionally. I combined the two loves for a time when I published my own rodeo paper, Northwest Rodeo Scene.
I've been fortunate in both my riding and writing careers. Neither has made me much money but I have enjoyed both very much, and have even won some awards, both in journalism and rodeo. Thank you for stopping by my humble site and please browse around.
