Accurate, relevant journalism important to our democracy
Local, community journalism has the power to inform and celebrate the people it serves. It can cast light in the shadows, expose readers to new ideas and provide facts and context that enable people to make informed decisions.
This is what years in the newspaper business have shown me. It is important work, but it is also fun. Ever since the eighth grade, when I started writing sports stories for the community paper, I have been amazed at the places journalism has taken me and the people I have met through my work at papers and on the radio.
I don't know if it is the adrenalin rush of meeting a deadline, the pleasure of seeing that I got the photo after all, or the satisfaction of telling the stories of everyday people, journalism has been personally satisfying for me.
The links at the left contain stories, photos and samples of pages I have designed, as well as a little about me. Thanks for stopping by the site.
