ARTISTS HONORED 2010 MAMo Award recipients Gladys Grace and Bob Freitas were the guests of honor at a preview showing of "E Ku Ana Ka Paia (And the Walls Shall Stand Firm)," an exhibit of contemporary Hawaiian art, at Bishop Museum. Freitas told the crowd it is "vital ... (that) the Hawaiian community understand why it is important to support contemporary Hawaiian art" and "more education is needed regarding art appreciation, acquisition (and) collecting."
