We own a 1 BR oceanview unit at
Marriott's Kauai Beach Club (KBC). We rarely use it and are open to
offers to rent it. It's currently available for 2007 There's only one
season at KBC, so as long as the week is available, we can try to get
it. Reservations are accepted one year prior to the week you are
interested in. The oceanview units at KBC are really nice and they
really do offer a full ocean view. (They are behind the pool. The ocean
front units are to the side of the pool, right next to the water.)
We have a large home in Makawao (upcountry) Maui. Makawao is the old,
pretty rodeo town at around elevation 1000 feet off the Haleakala
Highway. Days here are usually warm, and nights are always cool since
we're at elevation. The house backs up onto part of the ranch
here, and we usually have horses and/or cows in the field behind us. We
have nice mountain views of Haleakala, so you can tell before leaving
if it's going to be clear at the summit or not. It's about a 20 minute
drive from the airport to the house. There's lots of nice beaches and
kids parks nearby. We
have two extra bedrooms available for use by our friends and guests.
Bedroom one has a queen sized bed, desk, closet, etc, private entrance
(sliding door/screen door) to the outside entrance.
Bedroom two has a home-made very sturdy non-traditional bunk bed (the
bottom is a queen sized bed, the top is a full-sized bed).
The two bedrooms are downstairs at ground level. Our living space and
the kitchen are upstairs, so the downstairs is pretty much used just by
our guests. There's a bathroom/shower and an outdoor shower downstairs
along with a
downstairs shared living room with large screen TV, premium cable
service and a DVD player and nice furnishings. We have a large
collection of DVDs including kids titles since we have an 8 year old
daughter. Our kitchen is upstairs and
all our guests have full use of the laundry and kitchen, including some
pantry
space and refrigerator/freezer space. We're fully wired to the internet
and our guests are welcome to use our computers to check email, look up
directions, etc. We'll set up a guest account for your use while you
are here.
Since we're not permitted by local ordinances to rent out our rooms,
and since our friends aren't freeloaders, our friends that wish to stay
with us usually leave us a donation to cover their expenses for the
time they are here. We'll provide towels, sheets, bedding, etc. You
provide your own food, transportation and fun!
