This attack was apparently in response to reporting on the UPW constitution appearing in the Tribune Herald by Janet Snyder, and two articles in the Star-Bulletin ( Union might have to change elections, shift voting power to membership, October 12, 1999; and UPW members may lose right to recall. Amendments to constitution rushed to vote, September 24, 1999).
