Information

The web cam takes one picture each hour during daylight hours. The pictures shown are a sequence of the last twelve images. Each image can be enlarged by clicking on the image.

The beach cam looks towards Kaena point on Oahu's North shore. It is a good shot of the ocean conditions and the weather. If you are lucky, a good sunset picture is captured. About 50% of the area residents don't want any web cams pointed towards any surf breaks so there aren't any here.

The "Surf Forecast" is a Hawaii surf forecast for the Islands. This forecast looks at wind patterns, storms, and weather models to predict the surf.

"Buoys" has links to bouy data. The wave period and wave height can be used to determine what the surf may do. ie: stay the same, get smaller, or become way too big.

The "Wave Direction" is from a small bouy 2 miles north of Wiamea bay on Oahu. This is being used by the University to try and correlate sand movement with wave direction.

The "Surf Numbers" are telephone numbers. The "596-" number is a good source of information. Individual people look at the surf and report in.

The best information is from the lifeguards at the beach. Check with them prior to entering the water.
